Difficulty involves climbing long difficult routes. The route at the competition should be oriented to the athlete’s endurance, with different overhanging angles, terrain, hooks and reliefs. Here the result is the distance traveled in a set time from the start to the top;
Participants climb as high as possible by snapping the rope into the belay ropes on the course, trying to reach the last hitch or relief, which is at the top of the course. In difficulty climbing there must always be a belayer, here the bottom belay is used, top belay and combined belay are also allowed. Competitions are held at a height of at least 9 meters. One attempt is allowed to complete the course.
Speed is the passage of a special track called “Etalon” in a race format. The height of the track is 15 meters, there is a certain angle of inclination and location of hooks, and all hooks on the track are the same. The main criterion for the athlete is the time of passing. Competitions are held in two modes: individual climbing and pair race. Only experienced athletes compete;
Competitions are held on indoor and outdoor tracks. The sections of the trails are usually short and difficult, up to 6 meters high, usually from 2 to 4. Bouldering courses are technical, often requiring a lot of explosive power from the athlete, but also require positioning or dynamics;
Multisport is a combination of the main disciplines (speed climbing, difficulty climbing, bouldering). Different modes of competitions are practiced: separately and together with competitions in other disciplines.
